Policy Priorities

Our sewer system is critical infrastructure. Currently, residents are paying sewer fees, but rather than being dedicated to maintaining and improving our sewer system those funds are going into the general fund.
The current system is unfair. In 2023, then-Council President Tammy Williams signed a resolution basing sewer fees on the number of bedrooms in a home. This is fundamentally unfair. It burdens seniors and empty-nesters. When your family size shrinks, so too should your sewer bill.
As Mayor, Joyce will create a fairer system based on usage.
